Home About Calendar Weather Trips Videos Links

We have added a few more links to different tide and weather sites. Personally, I find myself checking multiple sites each time I go out (especially for long trips) to get several opinions, as we all know the weather in this area can be very hard to predict accurately.

Once the water temps drop (the local water temps drop down to about 50 degrees) be sure to check our our links to cold water paddling and how to dress for immersion.

Suggestion:  first read the document on hypothermia from Princeton "Outdoor Action Guide to Hypothermia and Cold Weather Injuries", followed by Atlantic Kayak Tours "How to Dress for Kayaking" and/or Wayne Horodowich's article in Paddling.net "My Immersion Ensemble" followed by a look at the REI "Clothing for Cold Water Paddling" or Rutabaga's "Dressing for Cold Water" and a trip to your local shop to see what options are available that fit you, your paddling environment, and your budget.
